    Hello, brand new user to OpenSUSE, Rancher, and K3S I have successfully installed and configured the preliminary settings of K3S on two Raspberry Pis,
    kubectl get nodes
    returns the master and slave correctly Now, I just finished installing rancher-desktop into an OpenSUSE VM On first run, I get the welcome screen, but I am unsure what exactly the differences are between the options "containerd - use with nerdctl" and "dockerd (moby) - use with Docker CLI and k3d" and have been unable to find information a newbie like me can readily understand. can someone tell me which to choose, and a short description of why?

    Rancher -Desktop on my Mac is now proper broken. I added a PV in Kubectl and the HostPath didn’t exist. I created it and still couldn’t delete the PV. I’d removed the PVClaim previously. This was the last thing I did and it appears to have broken Kube with Rancher-Desktop. I’ve tried to do “Reset Kubernetes” and a “Factory Reset”, but the “Reset Kubernetes” just gives
    2022-11-14T14:35:20.398Z: Lima: executing: sudo /sbin/rc-service --ifstarted buildkitd stop: Error: /Applications/Rancher <http://Desktop.app/Contents/Resources/resources/darwin/lima/bin/limactl|Desktop.app/Contents/Resources/resources/darwin/lima/bin/limactl> exited with code 255
    I’ve tried moving my .kube/config so it got recreated with clean, empty set.

      "current-context": null,

      "users": []
    }
    I’ve also restarted my OS. The logs don’t appear to show much either. All the above was with v1.19.16 and I’ve tried the latest, stable version (v1.25.3) Rancher Version: 1.6.2 Any help appreciated.

    I’ve noticed an unexpected behavior related to Administrative Access: 1. At some point, RD stopped asking for sudo password 2. I opened Preferences and *un*checked the “Allow Rancher Desktop to acquire administrative credentials (sudo access) 3. RD restarted (VM and k3s) 4. I opened Preferences again and checked the “Allow Rancher Desktop to acquire administrative credentials (sudo access) 5. RD restarted (VM and k3s), but never asked for sudo password It happened before, and I’m not sure what is my current configuration. @fast-garage-66093 macOS Monterey, RD 1.6.2

    Hi everyone. I have a question about nerdctl volume on macOS with Lima. I create a volume nerdctl volume create test-volume nerdctl volume ls test-volume /var/lib/nerdctl/..../_data I think the volume is create on the limaVM. How can i access to this volume to copy some file? I can’t use nerdctl cp because my container is not always alive.

    Hello. I have an issue with rancher desktop on macos where the time between my docker container (and host VM) has a skew of about 1s with the host machine. Is there anyway to fix that? Forcing synchronisation with ntpd didn't improve the situation. Is there a way to manually set the time to the same time as the host machine?

    Is there a good way to share the containerd socket into a container in RD? I'm doing a volume mount

    but am getting the following error:

    I'm guessing this is because that socket is protected in the lima VM and can't be accessed by the process that is running
    nerdctl
    🤔 Any way to share
    nerdctl
    and the socket into the container?

    Hello! I need help with Rancher Desktop on MacOS when using Test Containers. In my case, the Postgres container is detected as started by the TC, but it looks like the port is not exposed yet, which makes the DB connection fail. It works correctly with Docker Desktop. Is it a known issue?

    hello. I think I found something about a bug in rancher desktop. I see there has been a bug about not being able to mount bind volumes (with docker compose, at least). from my experiments, it seems rancher can create these binds but only if they are directories in the host from the code, it looks like the bug could be in wsl-helper - it tries to open a file in (..)/docker-mounts/ but fails because it is a directory. it's prob getting confused along the way about it being a file. not sure how to fix it since I don't even know go 🤔 could there be a workaround?
