I haven’t upgraded to v1.0.3 yet because I’m away from my three node cluster and have no way to remotely manage the hosts, but with v1.0.2 I’m finding Longhorn and Harvester quite fragile. On several occasions I’ve had the issue with too many shapshots. At the moment I have one VM which I just cannot start, seemingly because Longhorn is in a loop attaching and detaching a volume every 5 seconds. And I have another volume which keeps failing the replica on node 1 and rebuilding it, then failing the replica on node 2 and rebuilding it, then failing the replica on node 1 again and rebuilding it, then failing the replica on node 3 again and rebuilding it. I’m a little scared to upgrade Harvester in case the situation gets worse.

I installed harvester instead of esxi7, it works fine but I have a problem with the network. The server is in a network made like this: 192.168.136.0/24. harvester was installed on the ip: 192.168.136.231. With esxi the network was the same 1923.168.136.0/24, while when I use harvester each VM uses 10.52.0.0/24. How do I create a Network that works with the same subnet where harvester is installed (192.1686.136.0/24)?

I have a Ubuntu 20.04 server VM running on a Harvester node, which I am using to process large files. when I run
    sha256sum my-file
It starts incrementing buff/cache memory, until it uses up 100% of free memory and causes the machine to reboot. If I continually clear the page cash using
    echo 1 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches
then I am able to prevent reboot.
Is there anyway to change the VM configuration to fix this issues?

Hello, I’ve been away from this for a bit, but just installed Harvester 1.0.3 on a Sandybridge based system. I’m getting some weird kernel errors:
Aug 28 20:20:28 localhost kernel: mce: [Hardware Error]: CPU 0: Machine Check: 0 Bank 5: cc18cf0000010093
Aug 28 20:20:28 localhost kernel: mce: [Hardware Error]: TSC 0 ADDR 107d4a0c0 MISC 21400c0c86
Aug 28 20:20:28 localhost kernel: mce: [Hardware Error]: PROCESSOR 0:206d7 TIME 1661718020 SOCKET 0 APIC 0 microcode 71a
I wasn’t able to install 1.0.3 from a flashdrive or ISO. I had to install 1.0.2 and then update. I’ve also noticed VM performance is terrible. I’ve tried deploying Rancher clusters to my Harvester box, but they never finish deploying and keep running into random errors. Sometimes a node will successfully go online, but it won’t stay online and will go back into provisioning.

Running into an issue with registering my Harvester server to Rancher. I rebuilt my Rancher server, and replaced the registration URL in Harvester with the new URL from the new Rancher server. Harvester isn’t registering to Rancher, and it’s been nearly 30 minutes since I updated the URL. I’m on Harvester 1.0.3. Is there anything that I need to do differently to register to a new Rancher server after being registered on a previous server?

Harvester v1.0.2 to v1.0.3 upgrade. It's been hung at the Phase 3: Upgrade system services phase for 14 hours, logging every 5 seconds that it's still waiting in the
    ErrApplied
state, as seen in the logs of the pod running the upgrade job - as found using the command in that trouble-shooting page. Unfortunately that troubleshooting section does not say what to do to remediate any issues at this stage. I'm thinking, kill the pod and see what happens...?

Hi gurus. Question, I do not seem to find a documentation on how I come about adding a new disk or volume to the default disk on my Harvester node. I think I was a little to quick when installing so I likely chose to use the installer disk for both installation and vm-data 😞 Any tips on how I can put it right without reinstalling my 3 nodes?

I tried to create a network with terraform, the "harvester_network" resource, for a DHCP-network, so route_mode=auto. When harvester gets the CIDR and Gateway of the network, then terraform fails since it tries to apply those values for route_cidr. So I get "can not use route_mode auto when route_cidr has been specified", but my terraform resource has no route_cidr present, and otherwise no changes since creating the network. Does anyone know how to get terraform to not send route_cidr on updates of the network?
