I'm working on pxe boot for harvester, got almost all of it working except when it pulls my config file it say "iso_url required for automatic installation". The weird part is my config definitely has that and points to the correct iso location on my http server.

curling the config file and the iso_url works no prob it's almost like its using a cached response before I added the iso_url but I don't have http caching setup i dont think

my VIP is reacheable this second server, but rancherd service not install 😕

Anyone bumped into a "admission webhook 'validator.harvesterhci.io' denied the request: managed chart rancher-monitoring is not ready, please wait for it to be ready" error when attempting to upgrade from 1.1.2 to 1.2.0? I thought it may be related to https://github.com/harvester/harvester/issues/3839, however, from the Harvester's underlying Rancher UI and kubectl commands, Rancher Monitoring appears to be healthy. Unsure where to look next.

trying to install harvester via pxe boot, all is looking good except the install is hanging at "extracting file run.sh" is this that console=ttyS0 error I've been seeing in the documentation?

Is there a way to change the harvester-vip after install if it was setup with dhcp and I create a static lease with the harvester-vip hwaddr and a different IPv4 from the one that was originally assigned? Like do I need to restart the nodes or delete the kubevip service or something. Or should I NOT tinker with it at all and just live with the new address?

Hey everyone, I'm trying to grasp the vm import add on tool on Harvester to use with VmWare. The Add On is set and I see the 2 CRDs that come with the Addon. Im looking through the Harvester VM Import Article https://docs.harvesterhci.io/v1.1/advanced/vmimport/#sources but I don't quite grasp on what the actual steps are to do under "Sources". Do I edit the current CRDs, and if so - what entries are modified, or do I create separate CRDs

Hi All! I am using harvesterv1.1.1 to create vm. Now I want to share storage between two vms. The data size is very big. How can I use which method share this data.I found a vm can add container. But I don't know how to do.

I am running harvestor v1.2.0 and my issue is that I am unable to passthrough a pcie device which is a realtek 1 gigabyte network card. I am not using this at all on my harvestor machine so any idea why I can not assign this device to the pci-addons device and get an error about no iommmu group when it seems to have one?

I am also trying to setup the cluster network correct, but what I understand is that you set vlan in the VM networks, right?

But the web-ui says type VLAN in cluster network.

Anyone know how to change the admin password to the Web GUI? I'm not seeing it. I can get the system to generate a new really hard to remember uber complex password, but that's not what I'm after.

How can I use the built-in LoadBalancer to expose multiple VMs with an IP inside of one of my VMNetworks. I can only curl the address and port from my Harvester Nodes but not from other VMs either in the VMNetwork in question or in the same VLAN as my Harvester Nodes?

Hmmm almost all my L2VlansNetworks are shown as inactive as ist the route of my IP Pool. I guess that could have something to do with it

Is it not supported to run the managing ha-rancher-cluster ontop of the harvester nodes and loadbalance the rancher server url behind the new harvester loadbalancer?

Has anyone tried turning on CPU pinning for a VM? I have been testing and have it working, but something keeps resetting the cpumanager=true label to cpumanager=false which prevents new VMs from spinning up. I set the cpumanager=true node label via the harvester config yaml and it shows up in 90_custom.yaml file and the kubelet command line in the process listing, but I haven't found out what is resetting the label to false.

For the Harvester 1.2.0 ISO image, there is a known issue where USB installation will get stuck. A patched ISO has been issued here: https://releases.rancher.com/harvester/v1.2.0/harvester-v1.2.0-patch1-amd64.iso The Harvester software is the same. Only a partition label on the ISO was changed. hello everyone. i just had a networking issue and one of my nodes is cordoned. if i check journal, i see: panic: failed to recover v3 backend from snapshot [7:25 PM] any help? for some reason i cant salvage a bunch of disks too. it compalins about that node being offline.

Weirdly I restarted harvester and now it times out trying to read the disk 😕
