I am quite new to Rancher and therefore have a basic deployment question: When trying to deploy two workloads that need to talk to each other (one DB and one service), how exactly can I handle this in Rancher? I know that you need to register the DB as a service but somehow it is not working and I couldn't find any detailed documentation....

Hi all, Ive been researching rancher for a few days now, I want to use rancher for a POC of an on-prem self provisioned kubernetes. I installed rancher on an EKS cluster, Now im trying trying to add the existing cluster I provisioned on the same VPC (so there is connection). Is it possible todo so using

Direct connect

by giving rancher the kubeconfig of the existing cluster?

Hello all! I'm trying to integrate Azure AD and have user from Azure Groups, defined as "azuread_group://<name>" RBAC access to Rancher, running on EKS. Authentication to Azure passes successfully but user can't get defined via ClusterRoleBinding permissions. Could you please advice what else can be missed here? Appreciate any advice!

Hey everyone! I am trying to add my kube systems metrics to a centralized monitoring(grafana ec2) and would like to pull out the metrics from the cattle monitoring services promethues. However, I can’t figure out how to expose that prometheus instance as a datasource. Has anyone done this before?

Hi everyone, According to this, rancher desktop is using the port 9443. I have a different service running which also uses the port 9443 and I cannot change the port on which that service is running. Is there a way to configure rancher desktop to use a different port instead of 9443 ?

I created a rke cluster with default configuration from rancher running from docker command and then from rancher UI. When I register another EC2 VM as a node I realized my pods cannot ping each other between nodes. Is there anything else I need to configure?

• Hi, i have a rke deployment that failed. The cluster is already gone but i cannot delete the nodetemplates in the Rancher GUI. They are still associated to the controlplane and worker nodes for the cluster and these nodes are still visible in the /v3/nodes API view. NodeStatus • message": "(node01) Waiting for VMware Tools to come online...", • "status": "Unknown", "type": "Provisioned" I tried to delete them using curl -u <api-token> -X DELETE https//<rancher url>/v3/nodes/nodeid but this didn't work.

Hello, I'm on Rancher 2.6.5 and K8s 1.19.16. When I assign a user "Cluster Member" they're able to do a

kubectl create namespace <namespace>

but then they're unable to access that namespace again (since they didn't create a project to put that namespace in). I have a few users that keep running into this issue because they have automated tests/ CI/CD stuff that create namespaces, and try to deploy stuff into them. Is there a way to make this easier for them instead of having to create projects/namespaces in the UI ?
