Is it possible to extend the Rancher web UI in a standard way (i.e. without having to fork the source tree)? I was hoping there was a way to add a visualization of some CRD resource instance by having an additional item on the left menu when you are looking at a cluster and when the item was selected maybe Rancher could create a windows and call another container (service) and render the visualization based on the HTLM/JS that is returned from the call? Any standard way to do something like this?

Dear RGS Supporters, Many of you have asked for a donation code for the Parkinsons Ride I do. As you know I am quickly approaching my five-year anniversary of being diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. This year is going to be a bit of a challenge. On Tuesday July 26th I am going to have DBS (Deep Brain Stimulation) surgery to hopefully delay the onset and mask the symptoms of PD. Part two of the surgery will be August 9th and then after a few more weeks after the swelling goes down in my brain we get to turn the DBS unit on and tune it. This may sound a little daunting (maybe a bit insane) but my goal will still be to ride the 100 miles (or whatever I can) on September 10th to support my favorite cause, Parkinson's research for a cure. We all know people; mothers, fathers, grandparents, aunts, and uncles that have had or currently have Parkinson's. It seems every time I turn around someone is telling me they know someone who was just diagnosed. More than six million people worldwide live with Parkinson's today and it has become the second most common neurological disorder. This year alone, approximately 60,000 new cases will be diagnosed in the United States. There is no known cure. Together we can change that. On September 10th, I will be riding 100 miles or as much as I can with the New England Parkinson's Ride, the largest Team Fox single-day fundraising event in the world. The Ride has raised over $8 million since its inception and has a goal to raise an additional $1.5 million in 2021. With your help we will reach that goal. And here's the best part, when you give through my fundraising page, 100 percent of your donation will go straight to MJFF's research efforts to speed a cure for Parkinson's disease and improve the lives of those living with PD today. Thank you for being part of this amazing team effort and if you would like to ride with me please let me know and join the team. Please visit my personal page: https://fundraise.michaeljfox.org/nepr-2022/waynemawjr Thank you for your support as usual! Sincerely, Wayne (edited)

Hi ! I am trying to add a node to my cluster using the Rancher registration command but I seem to have an issue. The container "share-mnt" keep restarting and I have the following logs:
    /usr/bin/run.sh: line 26: /usr/bin/share-root.sh: Permission denied
    INFO: Arguments: -- share-root.sh docker run -d --privileged --restart=unless-stopped --net=host -v /etc/kubernetes:/etc/kubernetes -v /var/run:/var/run rancher/rancher-agent:v2.5-58b5997bc3b29e0b86b1611141d1ef6d1e069837-head --server <https://rancher.crane.mee6.cloud> --token REDACTED --no-register --only-write-certs --node-name nts-video-1
Any idea how to fix this ?

Anyone had success pulling from a registry served by hauler? I created a store with an image, a .jar, and a ,tar.gz file in it. I am trying to serve that store and pull from it but can't seem to figure out how to access it. I am serving with the command
    hauler store serve -p 5050 -l debug

hey quick question… looking at Rancher System Upgrade Controller, was able to run through the hello world example and upgrade RKE2 version, very cool by the way and like the CRD design…. would this be something we could utilize to update AMI of the nodes, or is it more scoped to managing the K8s install

If I am in the UI and I view the logs or execute shell on one of the pods, it times out after about 20 seconds of inactivity. Is there a way to increase the timeout?

Hello, i have got a problem. I just setup everything from TechnoTims video on youtube (

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oILc0ywDVTk▾

) It have worked before for like 1 year ago, but today when i try it i get this error "Cluster must have at least one etcd plane host: please specify one or more etcd in cluster config" i did get that before aswell, but then i just added more ram to the VM and it worked. But now it wont work, i have 8 gigs of ram in the virtual which should be fine for a single node.

I'v already put the registry config in /etc/rancher/k3s/registries.yaml, but nothing happens, k3s should update the containerd config at startup, but actually nothing happens. Is this a bug?

Hey, I have setup 2 clusters and I want to apply my resources as if its one logical cluster. I understand I can do this via fleet? I am wondering if its possible to use kubectl and fleet to apply my resources, and it will schedule the workloads to anywhere that it can onto any cluster?

Hey, So I have registered a machine onto the cluster setting its addresses to the IP of the network interface that my VPN is using. However the InternalIP of the node keeps saying its the 192. IP which is the wrong network interface
